Mirror Image
I call this a "mirror image" of the baby. I took this shot after changing the baby's diaper. Yes, to all you young and up and coming fathers, changing diapers is for Dads! Just deal with it.
It's now official. Everyone in the family has had a turn with the 24 hour flu bug. Yup, spend the wee hours of this morning cleaning up after the 4 year old. Cleaned him, cleaned his clothes, cleaned his sheet, cleaned his mattress protector, cleaned his pillow, and cleaned his sibling's Perry the Platypus pillow pet! You don't have to throw things away after the barf comes, they can be cleaned, and yes you Dads can do it.

How did this happen?
So back in 1994 I fell madly in love with Grace and now look, we have 10 kids! And I thought I was supposed to be saved by Grace. Oh well. Being a Dad of 10 rocks.
The purpose of this blog is to share experiences of raising 10 kids. Most parents have no idea what they are getting into when the first baby comes. After 10, we still have no idea what we are getting into.
When we were expecting our 7th, I casually remarked, "What's the big deal? We've already got 6, one more won't change much." I was dead wrong. Each child is a big deal and comes with their own personality and unique influences on the family.
This picture may not seem like much. Notice the "buckets" on the floor. These are affectionately known as barf buckets. This is how our 2014 is starting with 3 kids on the couch. Two barfed in the night. The other one is the only member of the family who has yet to be sick in the last two weeks. Placing the four year old here with the bucket is purely precautionary.
Here is my journal entry that came along with the idea to start this blog:
31 December 2013 : 9 year-old threw-up in bed. Wife was up with sick baby. I cleaned up. Put on the big rubber gloves and did what had to be done. As a Dad I do things I don't want to do. Why? Because somebody has to do it, and it shouldn't always have to be Mamma Bear.
